Whelan’s Pubs secures site in London’s Farringdon

Whelan’s Pubs, which operates a family of pubs across London and the south east, including traditional Irish pubs and premium venues, is set to add to its 15-strong portfolio with a new opening in Farringdon in the capital. The business, which operates three eponymous sites, has acquired the former Simmons site in Charterhouse Street. Whelan’s is set to reopen the site later this month, as a new Irish bar called Grace’s, which it said will be bringing “proper Irish hospitality, good drinks and a menu made for everything from a quick bite to a long catch up around the table”.

Michael Penfold, of AG&G, acted on the deal on behalf of the landlord.
