The Beefy Boys secures its most southerly site, in Exeter
The Beefy Boys, the better burger business backed by Manjit Dale, founding partner of TDR Capital, has secured its most southerly site so far, in Exeter, Devon. The business, which recently opened its sixth site, in Nottingham, has secured the former BrewDog site in Exeter’s Queen Street for an opening at the end of this summer. Anthony ‘Murf’ Murphy, co-founder of The Beefy Boys said: “Exeter has been on our radar for a while. It’s an exciting city with a buzzing food scene, and I’m lucky enough to have spent lots of time here, due to some family connections, so it’s always felt like somewhere we’d love to be. When the former BrewDog site came up, it just felt like the perfect fit for us. We’re incredibly proud of how far The Beefy Boys has come. Just over ten years ago we were cooking burgers in our back gardens, and now we are opening our seventh restaurant.” The Beefy Boys was founded in 2011, in Hereford, by Murphy, Daniel Mayo-Evans, Christian Williams and Lee Symonds – beginning as a backyard BBQ pop-up before opening restaurants in Hereford, Shrewsbury, Cheltenham, Bath and Oxford. In April, Propel revealed that the business, which is also in talks on a site in Cambridge, had launched an international franchise programme to expand the business overseas. James Grimes at AG&G acted on the Exeter deal.
