Prepare to be charmed by the Prince

What’s in a name? When The Prince on Goldhawk Road in Shepherds Bush first became a pub in early Victorian times, that’s was it was called. Then it became the British Prince and, more recently, the Raving Buddha. Now it’s back to The Prince. And that part of Goldhawk Road used to be called New Road.

The pub is now for sale through licensed leisure specialists AG&G at a guide price of £995,000 (plus VAT )for the freehold and the new owner will be able to name the premises whatever he or she likes.

“There has already been huge interest,” says AG&G’s David Gooderham. “It’s in a great location and, as it’s on a corner site, it’s very prominent. It’s a handsome building with a 1am licence on Fridays and Saturdays and is just a short walk from Shepherds Bush Green and 100 metres from Goldhawk Road Underground station.

“It also backs onto an upmarket residential area and it’s a substantial building, which means that there could be development opportunities, subject to necessary consents.”

The winning bidder will get an open plan ground floor bar with central servery and customer lavatories. On the first floor is a kitchen, bedroom and office. Move up a floor and there are five bedrooms and a bathroom. The basement cellarage and storage area is large, at more than 140 square metres. The total building floor space adds up to more than 500 square metres.
